When we purchased our home in 2015, we knew that we planned to renovate. However, we did not realize the extent of the town code violations that our home had due to an illegal addition. Our home and our family were in danger of being condemned due to these violations and our contractor immediately recommended Mike O’Steen to advise us on how to proceed.
Mike came quickly after we called and had a plan to our contractor within days. Throughout the process, Mike was quick with his communication and was punctual to all of our appointments. Mike was able to develop a plan that satisfied the town code violations and kept our new family home safe.
Mike also advised us during our home renovation and gave us the necessary plans to remove an interior wall to give us the open concept that we desired. Michael D. O’Steen, P.E. assisted our family in converting a 50 year old printing warehouse to a state of the art rug cleaning facility. The 70,000 square foot commercial property located in Springfield, Fairfax County, Virginia adjacent to the “mixing bowl” interchange. Mr. O’Steen worked with owners, other members of the design team, and contractors to find efficient solutions for the various code conformance requirements associated with the design team and contractors to find facility for industrial purposes. An integral component of this process was the design of foundation members for the newly installed equipment as well as vehicle ramps which allow vehicle access to and from the enclosed building.
Even though Mr. O’Steen resides in North Carolina, he was available for necessary site observations and meetings which assisted the design team in meeting necessary schedule requirements. The Hadeed family is pleased to say we have an environmentally conscious and innovative facility which has efficiently utilized the space available from within the 70,000 square foot facility. Michael D. O’Steen played a big part in getting this done!
